I Opened the Door and Closed It

A very quick moment in time recorded by my brain

My blood pressure rose the second I entered the room. There was tension in the air. I am a barometer for tension.

I saw a woman with a tunnel tattooed to her forearm flipping over a coffee table that was neatly organized with folded sweaters, socks, and a couple of candles that were not lit.

The tunnel tattooed to her forearm had four lanes, was nicely lit and lined entirely in brick. In the middle lane there was a bright red heart. If I had to guess, I would say the color was Poppy Red. I’m not sure.

The table being flipped was glass and also had a pitcher of white sangria, 2 glasses, 13 flowers in a vase and two plants of the same species at different periods of growth. The glass was about half an inch thick. The flowers were orange. I don’t know what they were called.

A second later, a cat that had been laying on the floor had to jump out of the way from the incoming death of falling furniture, over a stuffed mouse it was probably playing with earlier, and on to the couch to save itself. The cat was white with grey spots and had the look in its eye like it had seen this before. The mouse was all brown with a black tail and bloodshot eyes. The couch was a deep shade of earth. Leather I think.
