I do agree that there are farmers out there like your coworker that are responsible. I promise I understand that they care for their animals even though they are making money off of them.
However, they are in a very small percentage of farmers.
I too agree it is not good to abuse your product. That is not how big farms work though. They have an endless supply of product unlike your coworker. They don't care.
The most important thing to them is money. The quicker the process goes the more money they make. If a sheep has to die to get its wool then it will just be turned into mutton plus they still get the wool. The death of the animal is no big deal the way it would be to your coworker.
There are hundreds of sheep in line behind it ready to take its place. Again nothing like your coworker.
This is a big factory. What happens when a factory line slows down. Managers get pissed so they yell at the person slowing it down. Well, the person slowing it down was having trouble shearing a sheep because it was scared. Doesn't matter. Do whatever you have to do to keep the line moving and keep the money coming in.
Again nothing like your coworker.
When you buy wool products from the store a large percentage of that wool comes from factory farms. I cannot support that.
I do appreciate your comment and the discussion.
